PA Gov. Rendell Signs PA Budget

PA Gov. Rendell hold press conference on PA Budget, as of 7:30 a.m.

Did not get Growing Greener, but Gov. Rendell called the budget a "great victory" for the people of PA. With the increases in public education funding, higher education funding, increases in CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) funding, avoiding cuts in the recipient population for the state's basic health insurance program. He noted increases in mass transit funding did not amount to what he had wanted, but that was something he could continue to work on that issue.

The successful compromises on the budget are thanks to the bi-partisan work by all four caucuses, said Gov. Rendell.
